An assignment for my Illustration class, this is a scene from Kenneth Oppel's "Firewing" I was going to explain the scene, but decided against it. Best to read the book for yourselves. It's actually a trilogy, " Silverwing","Sunwing", and "Firewing".
My fav movie when I was a kid was the Secret of Nimh, and the books reminded me of it a whole lot. They're young adult books, but they're good.
Anyways. Done in gouache, in three sittings of three hours each.
I'm rather pleased, as my teacher wants to submit this to one of the directors of the school in the hopes that he'll put it on the school walls.
so yay.
Oh my gosh! That is so awesome! It's actually gotten me inspired to read those books now! The colors are just so beautiful and the over all design of the picture. Wow! I'm sure it'll make it!!
I remember The Secret of Nimh...I've finished reading Silverwing, now I'm almost done Sunwing...I'm gonna try and get my hands on Firewing when I'm done. This picture is just making me more anxious to read it..
I am also a fan of SilverWing trilogy ! I'm reading the second part of Sunwing now and I didn't ever know there was a third book from Kenneth.
Anyway. Pretty good pic of the vantrum spectrum Cama Zotz !
